A New Kind of Leadership

When my colleagues in the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office encouraged me to run for Whatcom County Prosecutor, I was honored by the confidence and trust they had in me.  Having served in this office for seven years, I’ve seen both its strengths and the areas where we can do better. I decided to run because our community deserves principled, effective leadership that restores trust, strengthens accountability, and delivers justice fairly and efficiently.

Throughout my career — as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and civil litigator — I’ve built a reputation for honesty, integrity, and professionalism. I believe in collaboration over conflict and leading by example. My colleagues know that I listen, treat others with respect, and make decisions based on what’s right — not what’s easy or political. As your Prosecuting Attorney, these values will be instilled in and reflected throughout the office.

My priorities will be clear: strengthen relationships with law enforcement and community partners, reduce delays in bringing cases to trial, and balance caseloads so that prosecutors can focus on building strong cases. I will establish consistent charging standards and improved training and supervision within the office — ensuring that accountability extends both to those who break the law and to those of us entrusted to enforce it. And I will change the culture of the Prosecutor’s Office so that leadership is based on merit over seniority and reflects the growing diversity of values in our community.

I’ve earned the support of my colleagues, community leaders, and residents across Whatcom County because I bring the experience and temperament this office needs. With broad experience in criminal and civil litigation, and a deep commitment to fairness and transparency, I’m ready to lead on day one. I would be honored to earn your vote.
